Hi, we have an old st40 depth which is currently isolated. I'd love to be able to connect this to my cortex with minimal power usage (so i can remotely monitor depth when on the hook etc). Network wise, I have:
* a ST1->StNg converter
* a StNg to N2k cable (sadly the white spur one). The StNg network is soley handling auto pilot currently.
* I'll soon have a N2K starter kit to connect to the cortex.
I guess I have two questions:
1. I dont really want to have the autopilot on all night- I'm assuming all three networks need to be continually powered, so are there any options to disable auto pilot components (via 12v switches or maybe a blue backbone with a switch in between each connection block)?
2. Do the N2k and StNG networks both need their own power connections? I know Raymarine stress that you must only have one power source and im concerned that the two networks share the same power bus.
Thanks
