KenG,
Once you get away from the BVI there are really only two companies with bases and they both have the same parent corporation now; Sunsail and Moorings. Both web sites have great tools for planning.

I really like the Moorings base on St Lucia.

Ken, about 10 years ago, my wife and I took an ASA sailing course in the St. V and the Grenadines. We chartered through Barefoot Charters - a smaller company than Sunsail and Moorings, but they were great. Here's their website.

St. V and the Grenadines were fabulous. We'd go back there again in a heartbeat. We only had a week, next time we'd go for longer. Can you manage 2 weeks? I just find it's nice to be able to spend a little more time at each of the places.

My wife and I did 10 days on a Moorings Monohull in 2006 out of their base in Canouan which is in the heart of the Grenadines. We would do it again in a minute. You are going for the great sailing, and the experience of visiting a place that is much less developed than the USA. The advice for more time is good as it takes all day to fly there and all day to fly home. Highly recommend at least partial provisioning thru the base as there was very, very little provisioning on Canouan and we felt like we got more than a fair amount of food for what we ordered, and they provided more than enough condements for our whole trip.
Have Fun!

Mooring's

We did Mooring's in Grenadines with captain and cook on a 46 cat,had a great time sailing and snorkling visiting all the islands.
We went in June and very hot and quiet when we were there which is the off season, really nice area for sailing, boat was well stocked food and beverages, kayaks, snorkling equipment.
The base is isolated from everything.

I heard a lot of good things about Barefoot Charters from St Vincent as Winkfish hinted. I did a 10-day bareboat in 07 out of Grenada with Horizon. It was a monohull but they have catamaran also. If your itenary includes Grenada, I'll suggest Horizon.

Enjoy
