Ferry To Roadtown

Rick We flew into St Thomas and took a cab to the ferry. The taxi drivers are waiting just outside the airport. As I recall they were vans that held about 7 to 9 people. The ferry terminal is about 15 minutes away and there are two or three ferry services that compete for your business. I don't recall the name of the high speed ferry service that we used but it made a stop on the west end of Tortolla and then went on to Roadtown. The trip took about 1 1/2 hours.

Links for St Thomas/Tortola Ferry

Rick, In the related link with this email posting, I placed the site for Speedy's. Also, below I have pasted a link for the fast ferry. We have used both and prefer Speedy's. It is faster than the fast ferry also, we believe. Make sure you pay special attention to the returning times for the day of your flight. It seems commonplace to confuse times and days. I think the last ferry from St Thomas to Tortola is at 4:30 for your arrival plans. You can get the data on the website. Have a blast. We have been there on 3 trips, the latest for two weeks. Grit your teeth

... and try not to notice how close these guys get to the reefs. Hey, they're professionals... right? Kidding aside these guys are good and it's been my experience they keep to their schedules. Wish I could go!!!

Verify the schedules.

Do not trust the printed schedules. It seems that the schedules could change seasonally, but the schedules that are printed may not show the updates. Check the return schedule at the terminal in Tortola (West End) when you arrive. Then check again the night before you leave. My guests almost missed it once when I dropped them off from the boat that I chartered.

St thomas ferry

Rick don't worry its no problem, they know when the flights get in and they know where most people are going. They cater to us/you.... I was freaking out also but when you get there you will be able to go to the bar get you a painkiller and say "Life is Good"... Enjoy your trip and Happy Sailing... Katie
