ST FAIL

Bill; An old problem, one I had thought was gone, has resurfaced, with a new wrinkle. After the electrnics are powered up and the boat is being steered by the autopilot under control of the plotter, I get a message, ST FAIL, that blinks continually. If I turn the plotter off, the autopilot is still on and still holding course, but no longer interfaced to the GPS. I've tried many combinations of turning on things in different order, but it seems to make no difference. I had the control box looked at by the service department and they found a bit of corrosion and a corroded/dead battery in the unit. They repaired same and loaded a software upgrade too. Now the plotter sometimes wants to use the last waypoint it steered to, not the one I just entered. It will do a 180 degree turn and head back to the island when I'm trying to go home. Also, sometimes it will display the course to the cursor that I KNOW is 30 degrees off. If I put the cursor on a point of reference to make the course correct, the cursor is miles from my destination. Also, sometimes the radar just will not come on and I have to go through a routine of turning everything off then back on again. Any ideas? I realize this is a lot all at once and I appreciate your efforts in this matter.

Not Enough?

What is the model of the plotter you have? Which GPS sensor do your have? What is your local variation? Which model radar do you have?
