What'e up with my ST60 wind machine all of a sudden it started freaking out on me this past weekend,it stopped working and than out of the blue it worked while at anchored and mostly stopped working while sailing.
So where should I start looking maybe checking all the electrical connections was on my list first, has any one else done this before.

Nick,

Which part? the wind direction or the wind speed ... or both???
If both, then it's most likely corrosion of one or more of the wiring terminals on the back side of the instrument.

there can be three places where a bad connection can cause problems, the quick connect at the mast head, the connection between the mast and mast base (don't always have this one) and the connection at the back of the display.
99.44% of all electrical problems on boats is corrosion

Some times

Well they take turns not working but the wind direction seams not to work most of the time and wind speed does work more some times.
I will check the electrical connections start at the control head and work my way to the next one and so checking them all but the mast head will need to wait, thanks for the suggestions and will let everyone know how everything works out.

Nick:
Mine does this all the time. Not the wind speed but the wind direction. I cure it by going to Dealer Calibration and select "Factory Defaults" at the end of the menu. This is the only way I can get it to regain it's sanity. I don't think it's electrical but rather software somewhere having to do with whether I power up the RayMarine chartplotter or not. I often sail without the chartplotter fired up.
Hope this helps.
