SR Mariner Windspeed Instrument dead

My 1985 Catalina 30 TR is equipped with an SR Mariner windspeed/angle instrument. The device is malfunctioning and needs replacement. The original manufacturer no longer makes marine instruments, so it is time to switch to another brand. I am not looking forward to the replacement of the cabling in the mast and the wiring to the gauge itself, but....

I would be eager to hear the opinions of those of you who have had to replace your windspeed instrument, and what you decided. Thanks,

last i looked the company in Buffalo NY did repairs for a reasonable price

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm now in contact with the company, and it looks like they'll be able to repair what I have.
