The teak and holly plywood covers of our cabin in-floor compartments squeek (or crunch) when stepped on. I've tried every thing that I can think of to stop the noise from soap rubbed onto the wood edges to Sailkote. Anyone have the solution?

Are these covers fastened into place

or do they just stay in place with the help of gravity? If they are loose and they squeak they probably are no longer flat or they are rubbing against the sides of the opening. some manner of cushioning underneath them may quiet them. If they are rubbing the sides then a belt sander can be used to gently trim the edges .

Did you try a rug? Or

have you taken them up to see what king of shape the bottom is in? I just tool mine up to refinish them. Good Luck!

I had the same problem

I had to screw the boards down to get them to stop squeaking.

Use Chapstick

Try using some wax on the ends of the floorboards. Chapatick will work wonders.

Mine squeeked too, then...

I purchased some of those stick on felt pads that you would put on furniture with glass tops and the squeeks stopped. Just placed them on the corners of my floor boards (those that you can lift up)and my problem was solved.
