O'Day 28- End of the summer and the boat is 1 week from being put to sleep for the winter months. Noticed a squeak/creak on the deck this past week which was NEVER there before, port side, near where the top deck meets the hull. The sounds reminds me of a floor squeak/creak under your carpet in a house when a board is loose or just not right, ya know, like a n older home. I can't find images or conversations on line which gives me insight as to how the O'Day deck-hull seam is put together. If I knew, perhaps I could figure out if there is a bolt(s) I need to tighten. Any suggestions as to why the creaking has started and what I can do to fix it prior to next years sailing season. FYI.....not leaking, just creaking. Near a stanchion but not necessarily right at the stanchion.

Check inside the boat for a bulkhead near the squeak. O'day screws the bulkheads to the interior tabbing. Some bulkheads fit into a tab an are left floating.
These joints often make noise. Tighten the screws.
I have removed the hull deck joint on my o'day 22 I can not imagine it squeaking but you may have found something new.

Thank you for the feedback in a very relieving way. I was thinking "now what"? Anyway, I will check the area mentioned. Ironically, the noise is stemming from the area where the glass cabinet is. Since you mentioned the bulkhead it all makes sense. Thanks again for taking the time to answer.
