To all of you in "25" land -- I have an '82 model of the Mac 25 and I've been plagued with rain getting into the cabin. I sealed all the screw holes and bolt holes but it still comes in. The other day, in the middle of a downpour, I opened her up and went down into the cabin. And what to my wondering eyes should appear, but rain water pouring in at the starboard chain plate where it goes through the deck. Now that that's all said and done, I'm looking for different ideas on how to caulk it tight so it doesn't happen any more. Any ideas, no matter how far out will be welcomed. Thanks.

3M White Latex Sealer

I found (at least for me) that the 3M White Latex Sealer is the easiest to use. It's less dense than RTV cement. Easier to apply, easier to manipulate, and easier to clean after application. If you want to remove it in the future, it's easier to remove. Whatever you use, DON'T USE DAP SEALER! I had used DAP Black Sealer around windows on my last boat. Everytime it rained, black run-off would occur, and this was suppose to be stuff that would last 20 years? BS !
