We've been enjoying the full gamut of sun and rain, wind and clouds since leaving Port Ludlow on May 8th.

We started at the Penn Cove Water Festival with the canoe races. The top teams are so fun to watch. They are good!

Then it was off to Eagle Harbor on Cypress Island for a hike to Cypress Lake. we ran into our friends Marc and Diane who were also out cruising.

On the menu that night were Crepes a la Tosca. Whipped cream made the old fashioned way: brute force.

We left Marc and Diane and headed to Bellingham to pump out and top off fuel and groceries. On the way we scoped out Eliza island for a friend who is intrigued with island life. If it were me. I'd pick an island with palm trees.

We then headed to Matia and had Rolfe cove to ourselves.

Don't eat the green ones. They're not ripe.

Then it was off to Canoe Cove to check in with Customs. In spite of their idiot cousins to the south, they were extremely nice to us. From Canoe Cove we sailed down Saanich Inlet to Buchart Cove. We raced a much larger boat - some plumb bow floating condo of unknown provenance, and beat the pants off him. Did he know we were racing? I'll leave that to you.

We found the cove and snagged a mooring ball. We were one of two boats in the cove. The highlight of the trip so far was entering through the Japanse Garden first thing in the morning, after a heavy rain around 5:00 AM. We then discovered the Sunken Garden. Oh my.

Unbelievable foresight, planning and constant effort. Every turn in a path is another picture pefect view.
