Hey all sailors;
28' oday on the hard and about to sand and paint bottom;
wash scrub/clean decks and hull and ask your help:
1. is there a better wet sander grinder or tool to get the heavy coats of bottom paint
down to a more or less smooth serface? I'm assuming a rotory sander like from Makita brand?? variable speed worth the extra cost? any advice here will help as i have no tool now.
2. will be doing just pleasure sailing off the maine coast this summer. no hurry
issues ... so what might be a recommended bottom paint brand?
No racing !
One brand more suitable to cold water sailing thn tropical waters?
3. buffing hull (above waterline) or just washing with say " general cleaner" or need to use some acid wash? Waxing worth the trouble?
obviously.. this is my first time to do this alone.
