Spreader width

I need to replace my spreader boots and do not know the width of the upper and lower spreaders. Does anyone have the width of the spreaders or, if you've replaced your boots, what size did you purchase?

The ones from west I used I believe came in 2 sizes...Look at them in person at the store and u should be able to see what u need...Red

I don't have spreader boots. Just SS wire keeping the rigging connected.

I don't have spreader boots, either. Just some rigging tape around the end of the spreaders. No sign of chafing yet.

I just got spreader boots from my rigger. Isomat is the brand. A 310 needs a pair of mediums and a pair of smalls.

Here are the dimensions I used...

I made my own boots out of leather years ago. See the attached drawing that I made and used for a template. The 3 3/4" segment wrapped half way around the spreader and when I folded the template around the shroud there was another 3 3/4" segment to wrap around the other half of the spreader. So if the circumference is 7 1/2", I estimate the width would be aproximately 3" to 3 1/2".

BF-x is the sizing they use.

The correct part number for the Isomat spreader boots are a pair of BF3's and a pair of BF4's, per my rigger.

A correction and mea culpa. Just went through a truck transfer of my 310, number 293, and just did the re-stepping. The spreader boots for both sets of spreaders are the smaller BF3s. The mid-size BF4s are too large. Sorry I put out the wrong info earlier.

Thanks for the update. We have not purchased the new boots yet as we just purchased the bosun's chair.
