im looking to add spreader lights this winter to my H-34. What size lights should i use and how powerful? is 55 watts per light to much it'll kill my batteries??

35 watts is bright enough. I put two of these on the spreaders last month.

Have a look at the LED spreader lights coming onto the market. You can halve your electrical consumption and the life should be more than you and the next two owners will ever need...20,000 hours +. They aren't cheap, but the prices on LED products are dropping rapidly.
