My partner and I are buying a 1991 Legend 375. We noticed that the spray hood (or sea hood) was soft, and as confirmed by the surveyor, had a high moisture reading. We checked the deck under under the spray hood, which was fine. As part of the price negotiation, we agreed to repair the spray hood. Our questions are what is the best way to repair the spray hood and does the solar panel have any value?Possible repair options for the spray hood are (i) remove saturated fiberglass and core from under side and rebuild; (ii) buy a new/used spray hood; or (iii) replace with something made of teak or maybe teak and canvas. Any ideas or experience? The water entry appears to have been from the area of the solid foberglass trim around the solar panel. This leads me to think, at the very least, we need to permanantly remove that panel. The prior owner of the boat has not relied on that panel for anything. Does anyone rely on the solar panel for anything? If I repair the existing spray hood and eliminate the panel, does anyone have any slick ideas what to install in its place?
