Spots on sheets that can't be removed!

Mailsail and Jib both have what appears to be "dark rust type spots" that the previous owner said nothing would remove! Can anyone tell me of a product or process to remove them? Many thanks for the anticipated help.

iron out

If it is really rust there is a product called Iron Out available in most hardware stores and supermarkets.
