I have a split backstay on my 1979 H33 that runs thru my bimini and is a real pain in the cockpit. Anyone had a rigging service run the split up to the top of the mast, while retaining the stock anchor points, to clear the cockpit?

I gather you are talking about raising the split backstay close to the top of the mast but retaining enough of the single backstay to keep the angle of pull on the mast straight back. This would increase the angle on each split backstay to perhaps clear the Bimini on each side. Do not see a problem with clearing the sail roach as the wires would remain on the same plane. You will have to consider the cost of the conversion

I believe Sam Lust did that on his 33. Here is his profile http://forums.hunter.sailboatowners.com/member.php?u=71214
You can email him if you like. He did it for the same reasons to gain more room at the back of the cockpit. I talked to a rigger last year about doing what you are talking about moving the back-stay fork up to the top of the rig. The rigger did not see a problem with doing it.
