If you are just thinking about Splicing an eye in the end of a length of Dyneema, using a brummel to lock the splice then burying the tail can be done with some thing to poke through the line like the plastic part of a bic ball point pen. You do not not need a fid. They are nice but not required.
For frequent splice work using dyneema, I like the D-Splicer.

They are excellent to manage the bury of a tail. Specifically used for the Brian Toss designed soft shackle.

Are you splicing 12 strand Dyneema? If so about anything to open up the strands will work. I use a D-splicer to pull the bury into the body.
Easy peasy.

+1 for the D-splicer. I’ve used it very easily on 1/8” 12 strand dyneema. It’s basically just a steel wire folded in half with a convent handle, so you could probably fashion your own too. If you’re following splicing instructions that expect a fid you just need to translate them into pulling instead of pushing.

Smallest fid locally found is 1/4". Can use?

Maybe I have to ... Allen Brothers Selma Splicing Fid Set - SL823002
All you actually need is a 30" length of rigging wire folded in half. Honest, I've done most of my Dyneema splicing this way. It started when I left my fids somewhere else a few times. Now I just go with it, since I'm used to it and it works very reliably.
