I have a Sprite with original wood mast and boom. The mast is rectangular and I want to get an aluminum (rounded) mast. How will a rounded mast fit where a rectangular mast originally fit? I need to know any fitting modifications before I spend the money. The boat is just-for-fun sailing. The reason I need to know is that the boom is in questionable shape. If I were just to replace the boom, how difficult would it be to duplicate? What type of wood, etc.
