I recently purchased a 23.5 which in my opinion is one of the best boats out there no docking fees and can handle some waves here in FL. Great fuel economy, and I love to sail. But the boat came with a Asymmetrical spinnaker on board and as I looked about for the rigging I found a pole turns out to be a whisker pole about 10feet when long. Then as I looked for the uphaul and down haul rigging all I found was a rope with a small strap on the deck and in the middle forward was a pulley to attach to something then a clamp to attach to some thing else after hours of research found out that the spinnaker was Asymmetric. Now looking at the mast there was no halyard no turn blocks nothing to fly the sail just the trimming hardware I found on the deck. I have been researching for days now how the best way to run the halyard I have determined the best way is out side the mast in the 1.5inces above the forestay which is in the manual but several ? I have. What hardware blocks and such what size rigging 3/8 which the manual states or the 5/16 for the 26 hunter manual states what bridle should be attached to the mast and what swivel block is best for cruising and cost also what turning blocks should be used the part numbers for both manuals are discontinued then what should be attached to the base of mast to send the halyard line port then aft to the cleat on the house any good ideas or has someone done this and has part numbers

Some thoughts/answers . . .

The block hound you linked to should work if it has the correct shape for your mast. You should only need to use 4 ea 3/16" SS rivets to attach to mast.
Lewmar blocks are the cheapest but Garhauer blocks are tougher and not much more expensive.
Decent 5/16 line is plenty for a cruising spinnaker halyard. High quality 1/4" will work too and you could use a smaller block.
There is no need - in my humble opinion - to run the spinnaker halyard to the cockpit. You'll have to go forward to make your spinnaker connections anyway so a small (4-5") horn cleat about 6' off the deck will be very handy.
I have a Capri 22 with an internal spinnaker halyard and I'll probably bring it outside the mast (at ~6-7') to a cleat instead of through a block and organizer to the cockpit.
Hope this helps. . .

More Information . . .

Note I did find a bridle that looked like it would work pn K-40547 http://www.rigrite.com/Spars/Kenyon_Spars/3650-mast.html that looked to do the job the rest I can't find info on the footage of sale is less than 190sf but the load for gear ?
Take a look here too: http://www.apsltd.com/c-70-boommastbailsstrapstangs.aspx

Also, before you attach the hound to your mast, make sure you leave enough room below it for the block not to interfere with the forestay. Your block connection might need to be 3-5" above your forestay attachment.
