Have any H26 or 260 owners put a spinnaker on their boat? Since the fore stay is so low on these boats do you just put an external halyard and pulley up near the top of the mast?

Sure

Check the archives, that's where I found this. http://www.sailboatowners.com/upload/display.tpl?fno=0&folder=Engel73105541992

Check this out

You have to install a block a few inches higher than the one now on the mast for the jib. This puts the spinnaker above and outside the forestay/mast "triangle", and allows you to move the spinnaker from one side to the other when you tack the boat. Check this link but you will have to find the right parts for your boat, as the ones shown are for the Hunter 23.5 Hope this answers your question.

Spinnaker sheave

I have a 2001 H260, the mast included a spinnaker sheave about 12" above where the jib halyard exits the mast. See the link below that shows the parts of the H260 mast. I asked Julian at US Spars about rigging a sheave at the top of the mast for a spinnaker, he said don't do it, the rig isn't stressed for it. Good luck.

Try this...

Here’s an easy-to-make bowsprit, seats in the anchor locker. This will throw the spin ahead of the main, less blanketing. Tack line and 2 sheets permanently deployed for quick setup. (Note that the link here has 2 pages of pix and directions.)
