I have decided to add the spinnaker winches to my H320. I have never used a spinnaker before, I have two Lewmar 30s on the boat now. Will single speed Lewmars work for a spinnaker or should I get two more Lewmar 30s two speed? ( single speeds cheeper) Thanks, Dave Bryant

Spinnaker Wenches ...................

.......... now there's something I wouldn't mind having on my boat. I can see it now ..... blond on the starboard and redhead on the port. I wonder if they're listed in the West Marine catalogue. On a more serious note Dave, I know that for our '99 H310, Hunter does not advise using a spinnaker due to the lack of a backstay. Their recommendation is to use a gennaker for downwind. This may still be the case with your newer H320. Regards, s/v Island Hunter

WENCHES???????

I have two wenches on my Hunter 30. One is a 45 and the other is a 13. The main trouble is, is that the two of them do not work well together. Have been trying for several years to find a way to make the two work together. Have just about given up and decided that I should only take one of them sailing at a time. Does this sound like a good Quick Quizzes for our responses????

Most important wench is the beer wench

If you have a good enough beer wench on your boat, you will not worry about flying the spinnaker and will find that your sailing is more pleasurable.

Don't need winches

Just attach heavy-duty blocks to the back rail (29.5s have rings already soldered on) and run the spin sheet back up to the main winch. Works fine, looks good, lots of fun.
