My '76 O'Day 22 is not currenlty rigg'd for spinnaker but I'd like to hear what others have to say about setting one up. I have a bail at the masthead and a small track and wisker-pole car on the front of the mast. Hank on jibs. The standard jib tracks and ~4-ft of tracks with jib cars along the toe-rail aft. Standard pair of single-speed winches. I know I would need a downhaul for the pole, a pair of pad-eyes for reaching blocks, a block and halyard. Has anyone already done this?

The setup for a symmetrical and an asymmetrical are a little different. Set up for a symmetrical- halyard, eye on the mast for a spinnaker pole, spinnaker pole- not a whisker pole, Pole lift halyard- usually located about halfway up the mast, downhaul for the pole, blocks for the sheets at the rear corners of the boat, twinger lines at about mid point on the toe rail and a set of winches- which you have.
