Spinnaker pole?

I recently got a spinnaker for my Catalina 22 and now I need a pole. What size pole do I need? I was thinking about getting the parts from layline. Would 8'x1 1/2 tubing be enough or do I need to go to 2in? Money is a factor. Also, Does anyone have a used one or even some parts that they would be willing to get rid of. Thanks.Geoff

Use the "J"

Check the C22 class rules for spinnaker pole max. length. Most likely the pole length cannot exceed the "J" dimension. The "J" dimension represents the distance from the headstay fitting to the front of the mast. Check other areas of this site for directions to the Catalina 22 Association website homepage.
