Spinnaker pole size for First 310

I lost my spinnaker pole overboard on a windy day with lots of guests aboard. I'm hunting for another one, possibly second hand. But I'm having trouble working out the correct length. Can someone help? I have a Beneteau First 310. Cheers, Richard

If you race, you will be penalized for any length greater than your "J" measurement. Your rating certificate will tell you what this is. If you don' t race, any old pole will do. J is the horizontal dimension from your mast to your forestay at deck level. You can approximate this with a tape measure from the front of the mast at the cabin top to the forestay.
