I am interested in installing a second halyard for future spinnaker of genoa on my H 26.5. The boat is equipped with a hood line drive furler that has 2 luff tape slots. I would like to be able to fly a spinnaker in the future, and utilize the furling working jib and genoa. Any suggestions?

Goes above the furler/forestay

You will need to install your spinnaker halyard about 4-6 inches above you furler or where the forestay exits the mast. Any higher and you run the chance of putting stress on the mast where it has no support. Cliff H 28.5

I thought about it too, but, ...

after talking with the shop foreman at my boat yard, I scrapped the idea. The mast must come down, sheave installed with sleeves inside mast to support and maintain mast shape. By no means attempt to use the existing halyard/furling system to attach a spinnaker, he said. He suggested adding a whisker pole set-up to my existing Genoa for light air cruising. Talk to a professional rigger before embarking on this - IMHO.
