Hi! I need some advice regarding putting a spinnaker to my 23.5. In the owners manual there are some drawings regarding the "spinnaker layout". First question is: without any backstay, is it possible to use a spinnaker at all? Or do you need to "add" one? The drawing shows the spinnaker halyard and pole topping lift. They halyards seems to go through the inside of the mast; any problems to make holes for the exits? Where do I get all the parts? At Hunter? Well, if I got so far; what size and make of spinnaker do you recommend? (I was thinking of a Shark 24...) As I haven't seen any H23.5 with spinnaker and reading the owners manual, I would very much appreciate your expert advice. Thank you and Happy sailing! Whale Hung / Anders Leffler, in Switzerland

Yes you can use a spinnaker on this mast without a backstay. Your mast is a Z-spar out of france I believe. See if you have the turning sheave in you mast just above the forestay attachment. The resto of the gear is what ever you use or find. The flat spaces on the deck do have aluminum plates encapsalted in the fiberglass. Drill a pilot hole first with a small drill bit first. Happy sailing to all of you in Europe. Crazy Dave Condommmmmmmmmmmmmm
