Thanks to Rick Webb's photos and discussion on the Spinlock PX powercleat, I got some for our H26. The installation could take as little as 15 minutes on the H26, and I would assume on the other Hunter trailer sailers, if you have the right hardware. the powercleat fits right on the pads where the jamb cleats are located. The holes line up, but the Spinlock's holes are smaller than the 1/4 inch SS machine screws in the H26, so I tapped them out (drilling would do just as well). However, the head of the flathead screw that goes through the heel piece of the powercleat must fit all the way down into the countersunk hole in the powercleat. So, it is necessary to countersink that hole in the heel piece a little deeper. The hole in the other part is not as critical, which is just as well since the screw will not go all the way down flush. Lowe's had the screws, but the 1" length had a slightly oval (pan) head. Those would not work on the heel piece, but they had 1 1/2 inch with proper flat heads that worked fine. I did not put the teak block on, as Rick had done. I think he added them just for aesthetics and they do add a nice touch. I'll say that the powercleats worked well in the the slip with only a slight load. Hopefully, tomorrow will give me the opportunity to try them out under sail.

Let us know.......

...if they work. I'm looking to do the same thing with my 240. The reason for the teak blocks was to raise the angle for the jib sheets entering the lock. Would like to know if you think it is necessay with the spinlocks. I know it is necessary with the cam cleats. We are anxiously waiting to hear from you (and warmer weather it is going to drive us nuts, the forecast is for 70+ this week).
