When I pulled my 1993 Hunter 23.5 out of the water for the winter and put her on the trailer I looked underneath and found 2 spider cracks about 2 inches long on the front edge around the swing keel box. I can't get access from the inside of the boat to see if they are all the way through the gelcoat. Anobody that can give me suggestions on how to repair or what to use would also be appreciated. This will show me if it's a job I can do or if I want to find someone else to do it for me. I didn't find any water inside the boat so I'm curious if anybody has noticed this before or if it is a sign of major problems to come. Thanks for your help.

Out of sight, out of mind...

I have seen the same thing on my 1994 23.5. They first appeared three or four years ago. Other than worry about them for an hour or two each fall when I pull the boat for the winter and scrub the bottom, I have yet to try any kind of repair. And, to the best of my knowledge, there have been no problems with leaks. But, what I can't see may or may not hurt me. I'll watch for other replies. If there is reason to be concerned, perhaps in the spring I'll gouge out the cracks and re-epoxy, like I did several years ago with a couple spider cracks that appeared in the rudder. Dale
