Speedo Manufacturer contact?

My '88 Legend 37 came equipped with Stowe Instruments. I need to have the speedo impeller repaired/replaced (you know what travel lift straps will do to one of those). I'm looking to contact Stowe Marine Equiptment LTD. The US number I have is no longer in service. Does anybody know if they are still in business or how to contact? Thanks, in advance.

Answer: Using the Boating Business Marine Buyers Guide, we found an address for Stowe Marine Electronics. A short phone call to the number given revealed that Stowe Electrics were a division of the Stowe Marine Electronics and this information was relayed to the CA Member. I did not try the "enquiry" site. But since they are so hard to contact shouldn't you be replacing with a known brand, new or used?

Saw that too...

...but didn't get anywhere with it. Hunter told me that it was probably installed by the dealer and not the factory (I'm the second owner). They gave me the number of Simrad, who may have bought Stowe. Reached them, but have to call back. If I can fix cheaply, for now, I will. It has been reliable. But I will eventually go state-of-the-art.

Stowe Speedo

Paul, I also own an '88 Legend 37 that came equipped with Stowe instruments. About 6 yrs. ago, I needed to get my Speedo repaired. The unit had to be sent to England to be repaired. It was not only expensive, but took over 4 months to get it back. Last summer I started having problems with the Speedo again. I upgraded all my instruments to Autohelm ST 60's because of the expense and hassle of the repair of the Stowe last time. I would recommend you do the same. Good Luck, Bob s/v Slow Dance
