Has anyone ever fixed their speedo impeller? Mine got brushed by the slings on a quick haul last summer. (I know, I know, I should have pulled the unit). The shaft must have gotten bent because it doesn't spin freely any more. Do I need to replace the sending unit/impeller or can I just replace the impeller wheel?

I have replace the impellers on my AutoHelm Speedo. Very simple to do. They have a nice kit. Can get at ant BoatUS or West Marine Store. Tim Gabrielse

If the paddle shaft was bent...

you may be able to straighten it out with a pair of pliers. I also have a legend37 & the same thing happened. I unscrewed the small retaining screws on each side if the housing, removed the paddle and CAREFULLY straightened it out. Luckily it was not severely bent and it did not break when I straightened it. It lasted until 3 years until I replaced the whole unit.

Screws? I thought so.

I'm glad you mentioned screws because the last time I check out the unit I thought I saw tiny screws on the sides where the shaft would pass thru. I didn't have my glasses with me at the time. Now, I'll take another look. The boat is in the boatyard (it's winter here) so I haven't visited much. I'm encouraged by these responses. Thank You.
