I am going to add a stereo to my H260 and am thinking of locating 2 speakers in the cabin just aft of the V-berth on the headliner similar to others I have seen on this forum. I was also thinking of adding 2 speakers in the cockpit under the stern rail seats. My question is has anyone one else mounted speakers under the stern rail seats and if so, how did they route the wiring and how did it sound?

Did it on My 23.5

Ran the wires under the floor pan and through the stern rail seats railing. Drilled a hole between the bolts where the rail bolts to the hull and another just below the seat. Used two pieces of wire with a hook on either end to thread a wire through the rail. Many others have them mounted the same way. My stereo and the other set of speakers are mounted in the bulkhead in the v berth I can use the remote from the cockpit works great.

H260 Speakers

John, Rather than hanging speakers under the stearn rail seats you may want to consider putting them under the captains seat. i did this last year and they sound great. You can run the wires into battery compartment and then into the cabin. If you need more info e-mail me at r10z@msn.com

Speakers

we have cockpit speakers under the captains seat as well, wires run into battery compartment. With a fader it works very well. I didn't install them, but it looks like it would be pretty simple.

Speaking of Speakers

Hey, since we're on the subject of speakers. Does anyone know where I can get some new plastic covers for my speakers? They have developed cracks and have started to split apart from old age and being outside. Thanks Paul H S/V Linda Belle 95 H26
