Spare halyard locations

Hello All!
I finally got around to adding the two extra halyards in my mast. I now have all four ready to go. My question for the group--On the port side I have my small halyard winch and cam locks for the primary halyards, the spares exit the SB side of the mast base and I am debating about just adding a cleat or two on the mast. Anyone done that or do you all add the deck blocks and lead lines aft and add a winch and cams someplace on the SB side? These would mainly be used if I foul a halyard or break one somehow and need a spare. Just looking for thoughts and suggestions!

Fair Winds!

Sure, add cleats on the mast. Bet deal is to drill and tap for machine screws, use TefGel or Lanocote on the ss into AL.

Thanks Guys! I kind of figured a cleat was the easiest way, just wondered if anyone had some different ideas. Once I get her in the water and get the mast stepped I will move on to the cleats! It has been a slow busy spring...

I use the "spare" halyard on the back of mast to control the topping lift. It is cleated at the mast. The spare on front of mast is for the seldom used drifter. Also cleated at the mast. I have deck organizers but the only line led back is for my staysail sheet. I have the hardware to have boom vang and main halyard led back but have been too lazy to install.
