Hi, looking for a sailboat for daysailing, a few overnites, learning to sail. Locally a sovereign 24 came up for sale. 1997 new 8hp outboard motor, boat looks in good condition. I can't find much info. on this make of boat, not near what is out there on other types so I'm a bit leary. Anyone know how a sovereign sails, known problems?, bad habits sailing? I'm in shallow water area so the shallow draft is attrative. Thanks Doug

SOme of the sovererign 24 owners here can no doubt tell you details on the 24. I just suggest thinking about how much boat you need to start out learning to sail. A lot of people say that the smaller a boat is the more it gets sailed. I overnight on my sovereign 17 and potter 15 frequently (although the potter is cramped even for one night....just easier to handle cause its small.) good luck in your search for a boat. -mike
