Southbound on a Catalina 310

We are looking at taking our 2004 Catalina 310 (hull #268) down south from Lake Ontario (most likely Sept 2023). The plan is to deliver the boat to Nova Scotia in early September and have my lifelong buddy join me to deliver her from there to the Bahamas. First stop would be Portland Maine to visit his house in the Casco Islands. This would be the longest open water (200NM) leg of the trip. Then we make our way South through Cape Cod Canal etc…

Many upgrades to be made for this type of trip not the least of which is a water maker, radar and AIS. The boat has a full enclosure, in mast furling, 600 engine hours. We have a long list of upgrades/additions we would like to address.

My wife and I have owned many sailboats over the years and routinely sail in excess of 1,000 NM each year. Off the coast of NS and Maine will be a first for us.

Suggestions welcome for those familiar with this route. Thanks.
