Hey everyone, I just wanted to let you'all know that my family and I are going to have our 23.5 (Mi Amante) down in Ft. Myers beach next week. I have reserved a slip at Salty Sams Marina for three nights starting on the 27th. I plan on putting the boat in the water on the 27th and pulling it on the 30th. We will be sailing in the area for the four days, so if anyone is in the neighborhood, drop on by and say hello. Merry Christmas! Biggerman

Be sure and give us a write up when you get back . I would try to make it to cayo casto if I were in that area . It is north of captiva .That whole area looks ideal for small boat sailing , good luck Mike

You're in for some fun sailing
My dad keeps an S2 6.8 (23') on Ft. Myers Beach (in the same channel as Salty Sam's), and we sail with him when we go down to visit. The wind is usually great, 5-20 and the best sailing is in the morning before the power crafts come out en masse. The channel from Salty Sams to the Gulf is interesting too. In the evenings you'll often get dolphins in the channel, and when sailing out of the channel around the tip of the FMB you sail within about 30' of land - but because they dredge you're actually in 20' of water. It's a little unnerving for sailors who are used to keels! Have fun, I'm very envious! Mike
