I just heard about the passing of Soupy Sales. I used to love his show. A lot of zany stuff that was fun to watch.

I liked the show where he asked all the children to go into their mommies purse and get all the green paper with the Presidents pictures on them and send them to him.
I wonder how much he raked in from that stunt?

Hey everybody, lets do the MOUSE! And then take a pie in the face in memory of one of the greats!! Yesterday at the Marshall/UAB game, (which Marshall won big time) we had a moment of silence for Soupy who graduated from Marshall. May he rest in peace after filling our lives with so much joy!

Soupy made up stunts and gags which caused kids to laugh with abandon. I was one of those kids and he let children be silly at a time when it was OK to be silly. We all have the rest of our adult lives to be grown up. Soupy was fun, plain and simple.

Yeah, most comics find humor in the human

condition, which is fine and I often enjoy that but Soupy Sales was just a riot with no particular direction. I guess he provided a often needed break from reality.
