Slapping halyards

I find that the sound of dozens or hundeds of slapping halyards in a marina or anchorage is actually a very soothing sound. If the slapping is on my own boat, I will take steps to suppress it since that echos right down through the hull and is too loud. But the other boats -- pure symphony!

I agree with Dean

I love the sounds of the halyards slapping and burgees and flags whipping in the wind. I also agree that if the noise is coming from my boat - I will work to stop it as it somehow is annoying.
