I am installing a 1 inch diameter thru-hull transducer for a new sonar on my Passage 42. The obvious place to put it is in the bow near the speed impeller and depth transducer thru-hulls originally installed by Hunter. However, the space there appears to be too limited for a third thru-hull without weakening the hull unnecessarily. Has anybody put in such a third thru-hull in the bow? Where did you locate it and did you use any exterior/interior fairings beyond the usual plywood thru-hull backing plate? Any ideas are welcome. Thanks.
