Sometimes the stars align, the gods smile upon you and you take your lady to the dance

Every once in a while, you get "that" wind, in just the right direction, the right strength, the gods smile upon you and you dance. You lead, your lady follows; you ask her to step lively and she responds without any effort,

Maybe it was the good wind, maybe it was the memory of my Father's last sail a year ago... but it was a good day.

I was too busy, having too much fun and my hands were full most of the day to get any pics.... but it did happen. I did think about it several times but just didn't get there.

A Happpy Fathers Day to all the Dads out there... :)

Good to hear it. I had good wind today..... it was a shame it's dance partner was lightening. We raised a sail for about 15 minutes before we realized this was just a dumb idea and headed back for the dock. Had a good day on the water before the storms hit all the same.

Happy Father's Day everyone.

Hey Scott,

We had our first sail of the year today and it was quite pleasant. The outboard started 3rd pull (always a good omen), the sun shone and the wind gods delivered a nice 10-12 kt mostly offshore breeze, which meant no waves. We hove to about a mile offshore and ate a leisurely lunch while facing downtown Toronto to the east of us.

I still have my parents and it's my goal to get my Dad out sailing this year.

Best wishes to all the fathers out there.

Lost my father in January, he got me sailing in the first place so today sailing on a beautiful day, my first Father's day without him was rough. But I could feel him watching and cheering the day.
Here's to you all and love to mine.

Don't make it a goal.... make it a plan and do it. I almost cancelled last year on Fathers Day, but we went out anyways. Rain, drizzle, misty most of the day, wind dropping in the am, then picked up to steady 10 knots in the afternoon on the way back. Had a great sail and a great day. First time Dad had been on a good sail on the boat. Glad I didn't wait.

Yesterday we had 12 - 15 knots out of the NW. Made for a good sail.

"Don't make it a goal.... make it a plan and do it."

I completely agree with that. If you are lucky enough to still have him, do it all as often as you can.

Re: Don't wait

I am finally mobile enough to have our boat launched today. high tide, no current, wind light and variable. The boat backed into the slip like a horse going home, knew where she was supposed to go.

Glad to hear your recovery is coming along, Ross. I know its rough on a normally active person when you can't do what you want to. -Paul
