Sometimes the best race is no race

Last night we had a twisty, on and off breeze of 0 to 4 knots holding us in postponment while the RC waited to see if it would build a bit and come in from a steady direction. When it did not, they canceled the race. Best call ever.

As the light breeze was behind us, we quick hoisted our spinnaker (only) and cracked a beer and glided home.

The canceled race also gave us extra time to party with the two tapped kegs, which we did not waste. What a great night!

Anyone else have a canceled race be much better than the race that could have happened?

Welcome to the other side of sailing. It's what a bunch of us do while never racing.
Well you should know me..... we have as much fun messing around as we do racing. Probably more than anyone you know. :)
