..as I recently sold my 6 years 'new' H-29.5..... feeling the need to 'grow'.. It went to the first person viewing her , 2 days after posted 'for sale' , and no reason why not , as it was among the best equipped and kept, among her many features, a retractable-pole-assymetric spinnaker , and a regular (another pole) one , and really shinning as new.It served me well , above expectations,( altough not flawless..), and if at first I had my reservations about her BIG(except storage) everything ,( , but especially about the cockpit and main cabin ),it proved ,in general ,practical and friendly design along the way.I thought for a while about a new H-380 ,only natural to what I got fond of and used too; however here ( in Israel , and actually in Europe too), Hunter prices became latelly very uncompetitive , the 380 tens of housands more than many similar sized European ones !!After checking around , my choice was "Bavaria 37" , a German sailboat with good reputation ( but still a mass production , built for a price, like all of them..no Helberg-Rassey here). My Hunter now is in the hands of a fine young energetic couple ( and their big old black dog of questionable origin..)new to sailing, but willing and daring , who take her -the three of them-on a half a year sabatical leasure trip on Eastern Mediteranean waters..quiet a trip for this boat.If you ask me how I feel , well it is half the way between moving to a new home and 'moving' to a new wife..As for my new boat ,a new excitement begins , as I will sail her home-next month- from Trieste, Italy , a 1800 nm trip , with two best friends for crew ,a trip I hope to acomplish in around 25-30 days.Getting familiar with Hunter Web Site ,( no remotely similar existent for "Bavaria" owners , nowhere..) it will be missed be me, and I for sure will keep ffollowing the Action..even if somehow from aside..It is a great Site for all sailors , now more than ever, and I wish Phil and all the guys 'at the helm'to keep going , keep inovating and expanding , and mainly keep the helping and humble attitude of it's many contribuitors. Alex.
