The original Catalina mold from the 1970's was built with the toilet located against the left side wall since the hand pump was located on the right of the toilet. The constant complaint of a "cramped toilet space" can be resolved by converting a standard Jabsco toilet with hand pump to a 12 Volt electric type using an off the shelf conversion kit Part # 37010-0092. This allows the toilet to be angled and repositioned in the center of the space similar to the layout of the Catalina 315.
The conversion is simple except for one problem, the floor under the toilet must be raised slightly to accommodate the mascerator pump.
I used a starboard (PVC) base to raise the toilet, then angled the toilet so it is parallel to the sink basin.
This new configuration provides ample space on all sides of the toilet and provides more leg room.
