Solid attachment for a Jordon series drogue?

Hi all, I am about to buy a drogue and the documentation recommends a bridle at the stern which is attached to something very solid. I was wondering if anyone has any experience of using the stern cleats for this purpose? They are wood (teak?) on mine with metal supports. Are they likely to be strong enough?

John - The bow cleat is exactly the same as the stern cleats and is designed to take the strain of anchoring in all conditions. You could run a bridle from the forward cleat to the other two at the stern in order to spread the load. Avoid a short line to the drogue; part of the snatching forces should be absorbed by the catenary of the rope or chain attaching the drogue to the boat.

John,
The other solution many people use it to leverage the winches. You can put snatch blocks on the stern cleats and run the line to the winches. That way you can use the winch to control the line as you let it out. You can also use the leverage of the winch to retrieve it, which can be quite a challenge.
