Solenoid Connections

I am having other wiring/starter problems and would like to be certain that I am connecting the starter solenoid correctly before tracing down my wiring issues. It is safe to assume that the post on the left, see photo, is the negative post? There are no +/- markings on the solenoid Thanks

What you do is first figure out which is the

ground, and then try the other posts until it clicks. Then you'll know for sure.
