Was able to get the varnish sprayed on the weekend. He put three coats on in all. The finish did not end up "mirror" smooth, but I think it is going to have to do. Will try to get it back together this weekend.

Here's where you

break out the 1500 grit paper and wet-sand, then polish. Or you do like I did (when I painted my car and it looked like that) and wait months, then do it! I was tired of working on it and I wanted to drive it a while!

You put a lot of work into it

It really looks good. I think we are our own worst critics. Brian is right though, if you want a mirror finish, you got some sanding to do, I'd rather be sailing.

You plan to walk on this ? The finish is better than my dining

room table and if I find anyone dancing up there ............well! It looks great! Put it back in the boat and enjoy. ;)

Good thoughts

that is, to be sailing. Man, I have been down almost three months by the time I get the boat back together. Think I will wait a year or two....maybe more to fine tune the finish. Thanks for listen and offering advise along the way. I will send more images when I get it in the boat.

Hey Kerry

I agree with the others. It will look great in the boat. I'm going to re-do mine with some stuff called ultimate sole. Anyone tried this?
