I hope that I have not made a mistake in doing so, but I sold my well loved Catalina 30. In putting this down in print maybe someone will help me to understand sellers remorse. I have been through every system on this boat. I repowered with a universal 3b20, around $ 7000.00 plus my labor. New prop, new shaft and new cutlass bearing. I put Schaffer roller furling on for the new headsail. I put a Harken Batten Car system on for the new full batten main sail , and a dutchman flaking syem along with new sail cover for around 10,000.00. I also added a Mermaid air conditioner (with heat). about $3000.00 . Other items like a tv, powered tv antenna, radio/cd player, new fresh-water pump, windlass, washdown pump for the anchor, water heater, new faucet/ shower in the head, new head, and new upholstery for the inside should add up to around $3000.00. Oh and I almost forgot, an autopilot that is interfaced with the Garmin gps/chartplotter for navigation another $2000.00. Lets see.... thats around $25000.00. If i count in the $16000. that I paid for the boat in 1999 that makes $41000.00. Subtract the selling price of 14,500 .....$26500.00 .... $2650 per year for 10 years ownership. $221 per month. Plus slip fees and insurance.
