We are planning to mount a solar vent on the fordeck. The best location for us seems to be on the starboard side just forward of the window. It would be easier on the forward hatch but that is right where we step when going forward and would limit movement when the anchor locker is open, so just to starbord of there would be better and out of the way. We will have to cut thru the deck and headliner. Has anyone done it there? We are worried about possible location of ANY WIRING in that area?

Alternate solar vent location

I've got mine in the head. It's out of the way topside and easier to wire from there.

In the head?

Do you mean on the deck above the head or ?

Foredeck

I put our Nicro solar vent on the forward deck hatch. Yes, it takes up deckspace, but isn't that big a deal. Installation was very easy, no headliner or wires to mess with. Use a hole saw to cut the hatch. With the vent installed forward it pulls air through the entire cabin. Works great.

Nancy we have an H26. Our solar vent is actually installed in the center of the plexiglass window in the front plus we have one also installed in the head. Got a reverse type blade fron Nicro. Now the fan in the front pulls the air out and the one above the head pulls air in. Creates nice circulation. Paul H S/V Linda Belle 95 H26
