I have been hunting a small leak. I used saran wrap to close off my solar vent and so far no leak. The solar vent is mounted on the stern starboard side of my Hunter 25. It is not horizontal but mounted at a 120 angle from vertical. Could the mounting angle be the problem? It is an old solar vent. Maybe just needs to be recaulked? The angle of mounting worries me as I am not sure these things are designed for anthing but a flat horizontal mounting. All opinions welcomed. I can blame this on the previous owner.

I would replace and recaulk it!
it is a cheap item and if you taking it apart you might as well replace it. They do go bad!
