Any 23.5/240 owners have any suggestions on the best place to install a solar powered vent. And if so, do they have any effect on removing humidity from your boat cabin or should I just stick with more buckets of calcium chloride pellets? Thanks

Forward Hatch

I cut a hole in the hatch above the v-berth. I installed an exhaust vent - works great - no mildew or other issues so far (about a year now). I've never used the pellets so don't know what to tell you there. Good luck.

solar vent

I installed a solar vent atleast 5 years ago in the forward hatch of my 98 H240. Mines solar powered and does a great job. Easy project used a hole saw, 3m 4200, and the few screws that came with it.

Solar Vent Forward - Passive Vent Aft

In my 240 I put a solar vent in the front hatch, like the other folks have. I also put a passive vent if the pleixglas hatch over the rear berth. I felt like heat & humidity were accumulating in the rear berth area, and hopefully the combination of vents will improve airflow throughout the boat. Regards, Marc_B

Forward Hatch

I had one put in the forward hatch on my 240 when it was new in 1998. Worked very well until it expired a couple of years ago so I replaced it with another identical unit. I now have a different boat with passive vents and they are nowhere near as good.
