Hello all, a 20W solar panel sits on my stern with rail mountings in the summer. It keeps the batteries well topped up. I always had to travel to the yard during the winter to plug in the batteries. I finally got around to extending it out of the back of my winter cover. I will now keep things topped up without any involvement from me.

That's a good idea. I usually leave mu ProCharger on all winter for the same reason. It might be a good idea to be able to turn it off and let solar take over.

Yes, some say that is not a good idea as it may cause a fire (??). In the past I would have left it on for a few days, but it always gnawed at me. I often wondered if my insurance would cover a fire under those circumstances. You may want to check.

Do you need to top off water in the batteries? Or are you using something other than normal FLA ?
